Pokemon - Pokeball Cupcakes (photo)
HOW TO MAKE POKEMON POKEBALL CUPCAKES for BIRTHDAY PARTIES!
Below is the Classic Vanilla White Cupcake Reco[e that will give you your basic recipe for Pokemon (or other kid's birthday) cup cakes.
(If you want to do it easier, buy the vanilla or white cake box mix at the market, then skip the recipe below and go down to how to decorate Pokeball Cupcakes )
CLASSIC VANILLA CUPCAKE RECIPE--
Ingredients
• 2 cups flour
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 3 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 4 egg whites from large eggs
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 cup 2% milk
• 2 large eggs
• 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. While the oven heats up, put cupcake liners in your cupcake pans. For Pokeball cupcakes use red, silver, or white liners, for Pikachu cupcakes use yellow.
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, shortening, milk and vanilla in a large bowl. Mix at low speed for 2 1/2 minutes. Scrape bowl to make sure everything was mixed and then add egg whites. Mix again at high speed for about 2 minutes. You want your cupcake batter to be fluffy and without lumps.
Fill liners 1/2 to 2/3 full of cupcake batter. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Test to see if they are done by inserting toothpick in the center to see if it comes out clean.
Cool 15 minutes in pans then remove from pan, and place on wire racks to cool completely. The cup cakes must be completely cooled before you frost or the cake will rip.
Frost and decorate your cupcakes as desired.

(Things needed to decorate POKEBALL CUPCAKES)
--- Red frosting: Strawberry Frosting and add red icing color. (Note: the baker in this case used red icing color - not food coloring but the kind that comes in gel form - cake supply section at Michaels.)
--- White frosting: Readymade vanilla frosting.
--- Plain White Gumballs (which will be cut in half)
--- Readymade black tube frosting for black lines.
Ice half of the cupcake with red strawberry frosting, then frost the white side with vanilla frosting. Place 1/2 of a white gumball in the center of the cupcake directly in the middle of the two colors.
With your black tube piping, draw a black line to separate the red side from the white side and circle the white gumball. That's it!
